Tipton St John Cricket Club |
Cricket Club Founded over 30 years ago and still going strong with over 30 playing members, Tipton St John CC exists to play friendly village cricket. We play around fifty fixtures a year between the middle of April and the end of September, so there is plenty of room for new faces! We welcome players
of all ages and abilities: all is required is an enthusiasm for the game. Our fixtures are mostly against other club sides in East Devon: these are mostly arranged for Sundays, since the majority of club sides play league fixtures on Saturdays. More often than not on Saturdays we play host to touring sides who come to enjoy cricket in our wonderful riverside setting, the best teas on the Devon cricket circuit and hospitality in the Golden Lion after the match. Officers 2011 In November 2011, at our annual general meeting the following were lected as officers: Committee: Chairman - David O'Higgins; Captain - David Birch; Vice-captains- Kevin Jones, Jim Bugler, Matt Williamson; Secretary - Rob in Pickering; Treasurer - Phil Wright; Team Secretary - Dave Dawson; Fixtures Secretary - Jem Gillham; Players Representstive :- John Williamson. We are delighted that Mike Gilkerson, following his retirement from playhing has agreed to become an honorary vice president of the club in recognition of the outstanding contribution he has made to Tipton cricket over many years.
