Angela Court events Angela Court Garden Party was held on Saturday 13th August in aid of the Residents Comfort Fund and the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary who are very supportive to the Home. They bring a donkey to visit every two months which is much appreciated by the residents, and staff, and also make their ambulance available for our residents to visit them when it is not in use for the disabled riding pupils at the Slade centre. The Garden Party which was opened by TV presenter Jeremy Vine was a success despite a cool afternoon. Some of the residents were able to join us in the garden and many remarks were made on how beautifully the garden is kept. This is all due to Reg our untiring gardener. A lot of work had been put in to make the afternoon a success and we are so grateful for the support given by the church and the village. The playing of Honiton Town Band added greatly to the atmosphere so a lovely time was had by all and £500 raised for the funds.
Our residents-(and many staff!) recently enjoyed a visit from the Dartmoor Hawking Centre who brought four owls to visit us. These flew in the main lounge and perched on various residents hands-suitably gloved of course-this brought real delight to all present and we look forward to their next visit.
Everyone is welcome to join us for our ”Mad Hatters Tea Party” on 13th October from 3.30pm This is a fund raiser for the Care Professionals Benevolent Fund and we will be serving tea, with an Alice in Wonderland theme and holding a draw.
